Ash Shakur's "Made It" Is The Ideal Antidote To Our Winter Blues

November 15, 2018

As the temperatures continue to plummet, South London rapper Ash Shakur has just dropped off the perfect antidote. "Made It" arrives in a burst of colour, guided along by Shakur's bouncy flow and the funk-filled grooves of producer Donato.

"Made It" is so steeped in positivity and colour it's a much-needed antidote to the miserable weather and general doom and gloom that pervades the country. If you're struggling to motivate yourself or you're just generally feeling a bit dispirited, then this has landed at just the right time.

"I wanted this song to be the soundtrack for people reaching their goals," Shakur explains. "I want the folks to shout out and repeat the words loud and accept the words we say to manifest. It's a spiritual record which uplifts and the strengthens our words. I wrote the start of the second verse in Portugal based on a conversation my friend and I had, on seeing the world and being mindful of what you wish for. I want folks to play this on the way to a meeting or an interview and know whatever you want to happen will."

Upbeat, positive and celebratory, this isn't your typical mid-November fare, but we could not be more grateful to the Art Life Central founder for dropping this one.
