Abra Cadabra Poses Some Solutions To The Spike In Violence Among London's Youth In "Hood Politics"

April 16, 2018

Dropping his third video in three months, Abra Cadabra's back and he's taking a slightly different road than usual. "Hood Politics" is a much more introspective track than a lot of his other output, slowing his flow slightly to lay out the root causes of the recent spike in violence in London.

The Jay Parpworth-directed video opens with a televised debate where one panelist explains the huge levels of mistrust towards police and the difficulties in bridging that gap. From there, Abra rides the sombre Architrackz production as he laments what's going on around him, using his own area of Tottenham as his main reference point, describing it as a "shambles", saying, Tottenham ain't one no more, it's ten.

A solution won't be simple, but credit to Abra Cadabra for opening up the debate even more.
