TRENCH Radio: 9 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don't have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week's new DJ mixes. To help you out, we've done the busy work for you. We'll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest in house, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B and no doubt a bunch of extremely trendy stuff that doesn't have a name yet.

This week Berlin-based artists oOoOO & Islamiq Grrrls united for a sprawling, mind-expanding fusion of hip-hop old and new, pop, metal, IDM and a whole bag of sounds you've never heard before; Bristol bass monster Sir Hiss showed us how it's done with his hour of power for Outlook festival; DJ Jampak called on Killa P to toast the fifth volume of his high powered Jampak'd series; Beanzo got deep and dubby with his speaker-busting mix; grime producer and selector J Beatz went all out with a collection of purely 140 bangers; Florida-born hip-hop savant Scott Herren, aka Prefuse 73, schooled us all yet again with his diverse and energetic rap selections; and, finally, Swing Ting got us all fired up for Carnival season with a fusion of African and Caribbean bangers.

This is TRENCH Radio's best mixes of the week.
