Holding up a mirror to the rapidly cooling temperatures here on the British Isles, MJ Cole is back with a new laid-back UKG bubbler called "Phoenix". The new track comes ahead of his new EP, Foundations (due Oct. 26), which is the first in a series of EPs from Cole that will be dropping through the rest of the year and into 2019.

Essentially, it's all about returning to—you guessed it—his 'foundations', delving into the stripped-back, early 2000s 2-step sound he cut his teeth on. Having recently worked with Kojey Radical, Wiley, AJ Tracey and more, it’ll be interesting to see where the next few EPs take him and who else he’ll be tapping up for the next stellar collab.
