Dirty Danger Dropped His ‘Only For The Real’ Album And It Comes With Some Iconic Photography From Olivia Rose

Today, Ruff Sqwad legend and grime scene veteran Dirty Danger dropped his new full-length project Only For The Real. The new album features guest spots from Ocean Wisdom, Tantrum, Bayku, Gary Gums and photographer Olivia Rose (who provided vocals on “Run” and the artwork), as well as Frisco, Roachee and D Double E on one of the bonus tracks.

A predominantly grime release, Only For The Real was heralded by lead single “Run” and the rest of the album seems to have met the high bar it set. The album also comes with some beautifully shot black-and-white photography from Olivia Rose, including shots of him at the barbers, his block, his church and his home, surrounded by vinyl.

Each of the 10 photographs (plus the covert art makes 11) corresponds to a track on the album. The trumpet is for “So Real”, the estate for “Destiny”, shot of him bagging up for “Stack The Doe”, the ‘hands up’ shot for “Run”, the pregnant woman for “Grown Up”, the twin girls for “Glow”, the barbershop for “Real G”, the vinyl shot for “Records”, the window shot for “Time Out” and, finally, the church for “Jesus Christ”.

Of the album and its artwork, the MC explained to TRENCH: “When I was growing up, I would buy albums and look through the photos in booklets for days. The photos used to gas me! It would give me a feel of the artist’s lifestyle and personality, so it’s something that I told myself I would do when I’m in the position to do so. Pictures tell a thousand words so, for me, it is as important as the music. I chose to shoot with Olivia Rose because I believed she would be able to capture what I was trying to get across. She has a good eye for catching natural moments and, with her black-and-white documented style, we brought out the real essence and grit we was hoping to achieve.”
